South Shore Support Services facilitates self-advocacy groups, parent support groups, planning for aging parents with adult children at home and social groups for individuals we support. We assist individuals and families with housing issues, respite care, transportation and recreational resources. We serve as representative payee for individuals who do not have family to serve in that capacity
The agency is a participant in the Department of Developmental Services of Education's Community Education/Residential Project. This enables us to offer support to families who have children who are returning home from or are at risk of entry into residential school placements.
The primary goal of Family Supports is to enable people with disabilities to stay with their families and to be welcomed, contributing members in their community. Family Support services help parents and caregivers provide assistance in their own home for a child or relative with a developmental disability. Funding for the program is provided by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS). Our goal is to provide the particular resources necessary to support each family’s efforts.
