Human Rights

At South Shore Support Services, we believe the people we serve are of the utmost importance. It is essential that we safeguard their human and civil rights, as guided by the Dept of Developmental Services, we provide guidance through a Human Rights Committee. Our Human Rights Committee reviews all incident reports, protocols and policies.

The Committee is made up of all volunteers who include a person we serve, a master’s level clinician, a medical expert, a legal expert and community folks. They meet at least 5 times a year with the meeting being facilitated by our Human Rights Coordinator.

We welcome people to join us or contact our Human Rights Coordinator at 781-331-7870.

Our Commitment to Advocacy

At South Shore Support Services, our Human Rights Committee (HRC) isn’t just a regulatory requirement, it is the cornerstone of our accountability. We believe that every individual has the inherent right to dignity, privacy, and self-determination. By integrating the voices of those we serve alongside professional experts, we ensure that our policies never lose sight of the person at the center.
