South Shore Support Services 15th Annual Golf Tournament
On Friday October 7th, South Shore Support Services held our 15th annual Golf Tournament at South Shore Country Club. The weather could not have been more perfect for the tournament, but what made the day really shine were the golfers, guests, volunteers, and the individuals that attended. The day began with our Launch Cohasset crew providing breakfast to the golfers from the Launch Eats food trailer. Another highlight of the day was the helicopter ball drop where 1000 golf balls are dropped from the sky with a chance to win $1000. Golfers and guests then joined together under the tent for delicious food, raffles and auction items. Our Launch Hingham program participants made delectable desserts, acted as the D.J’s for the event, and mingled with the guests.
Our golf tournament is also an opportunity to recognize and give out annual awards to staff member’s that have gone above and beyond in servicing our clients. The Jeanne Hamilton Award is presented to the SSSS employee of the year. Jeanne Hamilton co-founded South Shore Support Services in 1995. The award was presented in Jeanne's honor by her daughter Jennifer and was given with gratitude to Teresia Wamaitha. The second award, the Claddagh Award, was given in memory of Maureen Keating Richard. It was with great honor that the Outstanding Advocacy Award was presented to Andrew Wall.
Our golf tournament is our major fundraiser each year. The generosity of our sponsors and donors for this event allow us to continue our mission in providing individualized services to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These services provide the gateway to those we serve to live a life filled with purpose, joy, and the ability to achieve one’s full potential.
We would like to specifically thank our tournament sponsor, the Frye Agency. Our event sponsors, John Ford – South Shore Childrens Fund and the Ernst Family. Additionally, all of our Hole Sponsors, Green Sponsors, Cart Sponsors and in-kind donors. SSSS and the individuals we serve are eternally grateful of your support and generosity.
