Navigating challenging behaviors at home can feel overwhelming, exhausting, and isolating for parents and family members. If you care for a teen or young adult, you know that finding effective, supportive tools to foster peace and safety at home is essential.
At South Shore Support Services, we are proud to offer Safety-Care for Families—an evidence-based training series designed specifically to help families manage and prevent behavioral challenges while building stronger, more supportive environments at home and in the community.
What is Safety-Care for Families?
Safety-Care for Families is a practical, hands-on training program that equips parents and caregivers with essential skills to support loved ones who engage in challenging behaviors. Rather than focusing solely on reaction, Safety-Care emphasizes prevention, communication, and teaching positive replacement behaviors.
Through this training series, you will learn:
-
Prevention Strategies: Proactive tools to reduce stress and prevent behavioral escalations before they begin.
-
Effective Response Skills: Safe, evidence-based methods to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively.
-
Teaching Replacement Behaviors: Ways to help your loved one learn constructive, functional ways to express their needs at home and in public settings.
-
Practical At-Home Tools: Fresh ideas and actionable strategies you can immediately implement in your daily routines.
Who Should Attend?
This training series is best suited for parents, guardians, and family caregivers with loved ones aged 14 to 21 years old.
Whether you are navigating daily behavioral hurdles or preparing for the transition into young adulthood, this course offers a compassionate, judgment-free space to learn alongside other local families who truly understand your experience.
