As we plan our 19th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, October 2nd, at the South Shore Country Club in Hingham, we are looking back at what makes this day so incredibly special. It’s not just about the pristine greens or the friendly competition—it’s about the unforgettable, vibrant community that comes together to support the mission of South Shore Support Services.

If you’ve never joined us before, let’s just say we don’t do standard, quiet golf tournaments. We do high-energy, joy-filled days that celebrate inclusion every step of the way.

A Look Back: Carts, Helicopters, and 1,000 Flying Golf Balls

If you want to know what community spirit looks like, look no further than last year’s event.

Our residential homes dove headfirst into the fun, completely transforming the course by personally hand-decorating some of the golf carts! Seeing their vibrant creativity rolling down the fairways was a beautiful reminder of exactly who we are all here to support.

But the excitement didn’t stop on the ground. The true highlight of the afternoon happened when the sky opened up. A helicopter flew right over the field, dropped 1,000 golf balls from the sky for our massive Helicopter Golf Ball Drop, and touched down right on the course! The laughter and sheer energy of that moment captured the exact spirit of what happens when the South Shore community rallies together.

Unbelievable Prizes and a Packed Post-Party

After 18 holes, the fun transitions right into our after-party, packed with great food, drinks, and our famous silent auction. Last year, our community knocked it out of the park with stunning donations, giving attendees the chance to walk away with premium items like:
